Everything you need to know about Tiny Flying Legends

What is tiny flying legends?

Tiny Flying Legends project is recreating

the Practice Friday of the 2005 Duxford Flying Legends airshow in 1:72 scale.

How big will it be?

It's estimated that it will be between 15 and 20 metres long. There will be between 70 and 100 aircraft used in this model. Many of which will contain electric motors and hopefully even mini speakers. On top of that there will be ground vehicles that will move, hundreds of people to paint and buildings to make.

Is Tiny Flying Legends a modelling club?

Most of what you see here is our own work with friends contributing here and there and helping out when we go to shows. That said, we am looking to get a few more like minded folk on board to get involved. If you'd like to find out more why not get in touch?

Has anything been done like this before?

Not of an Air show. The closest is the famous Knuffigen Airport (above), a model of a modern passenger airport that is part of the Miniature Wunderland   attraction in Hamburg, Germany.

There is also Dave Fortey's 1:72 model of the Ark Royal. This is a fantastic model which has been a huge influence to TFL.
Dave's creation is 12 feet long and has working helicopter rotors, lights and deck lifts.
However, we plan to go one better....
